Board of Directors



Board members in attendance and constituting a quorum were:  Jon Christoff-President,

John Vingless- Vice President (participated via conference call), Ice Manager-Scott Noel,

Shane McBurney-Treasurer, Kim Merritts-Secretary, Wes Rogers-Fundraising, Joe Murgo-Marketing


Board members absent:​  ​ Patrick Baney-GNCC Representative, Kelly Christoff-Social


Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m..

Prior Meeting Minutes Approval:  ​The minutes from past meeting  were  approved


Miscellaneous New Business Items: 

  • Formation of teams was discussed for start of fall league play.  Ice Manager, Scott Noel, is to work on putting together teams to make start of play on league night run more smoothly 

  • Ice Manager, Scott Noel, has been working on prototype score board that will be ready soon to try out. 

  • Jon Christoff-President and Ice Manager, Scott Noel, will revisit making markings on the ice with Galactic Ice. 

  • At some point a proposal will need put together regarding ice time fees with the arena.  This was tabled for further discussion. 

  • Amended dues structure was unanimously approved.   This includes a seasonal fee of

$150 for members of the Nittany Valley Curling Club who want to curl with RCCC

for the season and $25 for a 1 night drop in.  The other amendment was to increase pay weekly sub curler fee to $30. 

  • Additional discussion was held about hosting corporate events.  Previously this had been voted on to charge $1,000 per event plus ice time fee.  However, there was some debate if this fee may be too high.  This will be revisited. 

  • Discussion was held about further fundraising and soliciting sponsorships and donations.  A separate capital investment account would need set up and the club would have to establish a mission for donated monies, such as capital campaign to purchase new stones.  A motion was passed 6 yay and 1 abstention to move forward with soliciting sponsorships.  A donation of $1,000 would provide sponsor with 1 year exclusive right to sponsorship of stones.  $2,500 would include 2 year right to stones and $3,000 would include 3 year right to stones.  Joe Murgo-Marketing, and ice-manager, Scott Noel, to work on literature that can be presented to prospective sponsors. 

  • A unanimous vote was made to reimburse Treasurer, Shane McBuney, $ 48.11 for snacks and drinks purchased for meet and greet event. 



Upcoming Events:  Wes Rogers, Fundraising, has set up fundraising night with Primanti​  Brothers Restaurant on Sunday, September 8th.  Anyone can go and eat and mention that they are there for RCCC and club with get  20% of the bill.
